About the Book

Dig & Dig Deep is the memoir of one WWII veteran, written at age 86 from his own perspective as a 19 year old those many years ago. He brilliantly maintains the innocence lost as he conveys the events of his life from entry to Manlius Military Academy in 1939 to his honorable discharge from service in 1946.

About the Author

Richard Arnold passed away on December 17th 2012 in the mountains of northern Georgia. This work was his last and greatest literary achievement. Dig & Dig Deep is his masterpiece... what he taught me in the process is his legacy. - Guido DiMatteo (Grandson & Publisher)

About the Project

Dig & Dig Deep was 65 years in the making as Richard "Dick" Arnold came to grips with his experiences in WWII. The editing and publication of his story were acts of love as all time and materials involved were donated by the editor and publisher to make his dream a reality.

In 2012, Dick completed his World War II memoir titled "Dig & Dig Deep", and in doing so accomplished his lifelong goal of providing true, first-person accounts of what he witnessed at Buchenwald in April, 1945.

Richard Arnold passed away on December 17th 2012 in the mountains of northern Georgia. This work was his last and greatest literary achievement, the publication of which fulfilled what I consider the most important of his final wishes. My grandfather's dedication to truth, freedom, and the younger generations has inspired 2 Flowers Publishing into existence. Dig & Dig Deep is his masterpiece... what he taught me in the process is his legacy.
